What exactly do you mean by “The finer details of wedding photography?”

Photographing a wedding is absolutely about getting the big shots, the bride getting ready, father and bride walking down the aisle, the rings, the first kiss,

signing the register, confetti shots, cutting the cake….

speeches and the first dance…

But it can be the smaller and finer details that make the wedding photography just as memorable and perhaps that extra bit special. These photographs don’t have to be technically clever, more thoughtful, which considering the time constraints that wedding photographers are under on the day can be tricky, but it’s always worth it.

Photographs with meaning provide such long lasting memories.

All of the photographs above made it into the wedding album, three completely different images but all capture a special moment, be it location, humour or speech.

I love looking for those extra special moments that make any photographer smile, timing is everything and being in the right place at the right time is never a guarantee, so plan carefully. I visit all my venues for each wedding and that also includes revisiting venues I have photographed before. You never know what might have changed and I’d prefer to be prepared than walk into a room thats changed dramatically since my last wedding shoot.
