This image was made at a recent London wedding. I have lots more photographs to come but thought I’d share this one to highlight how important it is to also focus on photographing the finer and small details.
From the flowers, the bouquet and bridesmaids flowers, to the button holes and of course the intricate wedding dress detail. I photograph shoes through to table cards and most recently fish on tabletops. The sweetshops for an evening do, the BBQ, ice cream stand or the intimate details of a first dance or a conversation between a bride and her Mum. All of these are so important on the day, but equally as important for the photographer to see and photograph.
The ‘small’ details add so much to a wedding album, they link pages, people and can even be used as a clever background to a page. They are hugely important. Make sure you talk you your wedding photographer about wedding photography details.
I love photographing weddings, it’s a well used phrase, but “capturing that moment”, is not just about point and click; it’s about photographer rapport, position, composition, light and loving your craft. My sure you choos a photographer who talks passionately about photography and your wedding, remember it’s your day!
I’ll be posting a series of posts about these very subjects over the next few weeks, so keep looking.
